GF Machining Solutions (GFMS) has inaugurated its new headquarters in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland. The new site will house 450 employees and integrate under one roof the former facilities of Ipsach Center of Competence, Nidau milling production site and Step-Tec in Luterbach. The inauguration ceremony was attended by over 300 guests and included speeches by the GF management and representatives from politics and business.

Pascal Boillat, President, GF Machining Solutions, stated, “Our ambition is to be the best, and with this new headquarter we have a fantastic tool for the future to realise our ambition on a long-term basis. From this new site we will consolidate our position as a global player and offer the best solutions to our customers worldwide, while underlining our Swiss roots.”

Andreas Müller, GF CEO, added, “This is our biggest investment in Switzerland in over thirty years, and our most modern facility for the development and production of milling machines, spindles and solutions for automation.”

The Biel/Bienne site is the result of an investment of around €91 million. In addition to offices, it includes a production and assembly plant for both milling and laser production, and a Competence and Application Center to support customers in the implementation of automation solutions.
