GKN Sinter Metals will be adding a further three new presses to the production line at its facility in Salem, USA. The company is planning to invest around $6 to $7 million and create nine new jobs.

“Business is booming, we are growing,” Jai Perumal, Plant Manager, is reported to have said during a meeting in which Salem City Council approved a 10 year tax abatement for the company.

In August 2012 GKN Sinter Metals also announced plans for an investment of $4m to expand the Salem facility to accommodate increased production.
