The deadline for registration to the European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA)’s virtual Functional Materials Seminar is May 26, 2021. Scheduled to take place June 1-2, the seminar will cover the powder-based functional materials used, or likely to be used, in the energy sector.

With the growing push towards greener energy production and distribution, functional materials are a key field in which innovation can bring even higher efficiencies to all relevant processes, with consequent advantages in terms of environmental impact at all levels.

The energy sector includes fields such as raw materials refining, energy production, energy storage and transportation, etc. Thus, catalysers, high-temperature components, radiation shielding components, heat exchangers, energy storage applications (including hydrogen and solid-state batteries), electrical materials, and semi- & superconductors are all possible candidates for discussion in the seminar.

The EPMA invites participation for all researchers and engineers dealing with the development, production and use of these powder-based materials. The course fee includes lectures and presentations, some Q&A sessions, and on-demand access to all the presentations after the seminar.
