FJ Industries expands tooling department as part of its growth strategy

FJ Industries, a Powder Metallurgy parts manufacturer headquartered in Ferritslev, Denmark, reports that it has further invested in its in-house tool department as part of its business growth strategy. The company’s tool department manufactures all the tools that customers require for the production of press and sinter PM parts, thereby allowing FJ Industries to be self-sufficient in this area.

According to Frank Hemmingsen, Area Sales Manager of FJ Industries, “We want to be in control of the tool-making process. Having our own tool-making department means that we are flexible and always able to give top priority to our customer’s projects. Furthermore, it allows us to comply with customers’ desire to stick to a schedule and also to minimise risks.”

“Another important advantage is the close contact between our tool-makers and manufacturing specialists,” he continued. “The communication channels are very short, thereby minimising the risk of misunderstandings. With our current setup, tools will usually meet our requirements for precision, dimensions and tolerance. This enables us to go directly to the production of final samples, which means that customers often don’t need to go through an extra loop of adjustments before we start serial production. And if, against expectations, adjustments are needed, we can react quickly to make the necessary modifications.”

FJ Industries has also invested in improving the capacity and precision of its facilities. “We experience increased demand from our customers, so we decided to upgrade our tool shop with state-of-the-art technology,” Hemmingsen noted. “We have acquired a new wire EDM and a new sinker EDM. These investments increase our capacity significantly. It also helps us to meet even the most sophisticated requests from customers and to do so on time and on budget.”

FJ Industries has over thirty-five years of experience in manufacturing Powder Metallurgy components for a number of applications and industries. In addition to its facility in Denmark, the company has operations in Sweden and China.
