Fine Sinter reports operating income up 26%

Fine Sinter Co Ltd, based in Kasugai, Aichi Pref., JApan, has reported in its third quarter consolidated results (April 1 to December 31, 2014) that sales increased by 3.4% to Yen 28.1 billion ($234.6 million) and that operating income increased by 26.1% to Yen 533 billion ($4.4 million).
The company operates two business segments, Powder Metallurgy products and Hydraulic Equipment. Its PM division, which makes up over 90% of sales, includes structural PM parts and Metal Injection Moulding as well as friction materials for railway applications. The hydraulic division is focussed on the production of motor pumps, solenoid valves, etc.
The company operates six production plants in Japan, China and Indonesia and is involved in a joint venture with another Japanese PM producer, Tokyo Sintered Metals Ltd, for producing PM parts in the USA at American Fine Sinter (AFS) in Tiffin, Ohio.
