Figures confirm high PM growth in China

Further to the report published on ipmd.net (March 25, 2011, see here) the China Machine Powder Metallurgy Association (CMPMA) has issued new consolidated PM part production and sales statistics which confirm the high growth achieved by the Chinese PM industry in 2010.

Production of PM products at the companies participating in the statistics totalled 163,609 metric tonnes, an increase of 39.4% over the same period in 2009. Production sales value for the year was put at Yuan 5,059 million ($773m), an increase of 39.5%.

Exports of PM parts represented 12.4% of output at Yuan 628 million ($96m) – a decline of 6% on the 2009 export total.

Overall employment in the Chinese PM part sector increased by 13.6% to an average of 16,346 in 2010.
