The European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA)’s Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) Seminar, which takes place online February 16, 2021, will, this year, look at the differences between powder near-net shaping and the more conventional casting and forging processes.

The seminar programme will feature presentations and case studies from industry experts, as well as providing the opportunity for discussion within a Q&A session.

The programme includes the following presentations:

  • Complex Net Shape HIP Canister Manufacture
    Tom Sellers (ICD Applied Technologies)
  • TOTAL experience on Powder Net Shaping in comparison to Forgings
    Freddy Busschaert (TOTAL)
  • PM-HIP SA508 for Small Modular Reactor Pressure Vessels
    James Connell (Sheffield University)
  • Manufacturing of a nuclear reactor primary component by PM + HIP
    Thomas Geneves (Framatome)
  • Net shape powder metallurgy at Baker Hughes TMS: present and perspectives
    Gabriele Massi (Baker Hughes)
  • Powder HIP Manufacturing of Ni-base Superalloys
    Raja Khan (TWI)
  • PM NNS HIP – An advantageous manufacturing technology that is not utilized to its full potential
    Jimmy Bovin (MTC)
  • Combination of Additive Manufacturing and HIP: a method to improve the efficiency of process chain
    Siyuan Qin (RWTH Aachen University)
  • Manufacturing of functional near-net-shape composite components by AM & HIP
