EPMA promotes PM at ISO TC261 and ASTM F42 meeting in France
October 10, 2019
The European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA) recently participated in the annual plenary meeting of ISO’s Additive Manufacturing committee (TC 261) and ASTM International’s Committee on Additive Manufacturing (F42), held at Cetim’s Technical Centre for Mechanical Industries in Senlis, France, from September 16–20, 2019.
The EPMA states that it took part in the meetings to promote Powder Metallurgy technology and the AM standardisation activities which it is engaged in with its members. The EPMA’s European Additive Manufacturing Group (EuroAM) supports standards development and has plans to establish a group to work on ISO Standards in AM.
The event was organised by UNM, the French Standardisation Office for mechanical engineering, and reportedly brought together over 100 industry experts, including manufacturers, technicians, users, academics, policy makers, competitive clusters and representatives from other standardisation committees to advance work on standardisation in the Additive Manufacturing sector.
