The European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA) has been confirmed as an accredited stakeholder by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) for the association’s work with REACH (Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of CHemicals) European Union regulation.
Founded in 2007, the ECHA is an EU agency dedicated to the safe use of chemicals. It helps companies to comply with the EU chemicals legislation, advance the safe use of chemicals, provide information about chemicals and address chemicals of concern.
The ECHA involve their accredited stakeholders in a variety of ways including discussions, workshops and events, joint activities and regular updates about topical issues, with the goal of protecting human health and the environment and to ensure the safe use of chemicals.
The EPMA states that its key areas of involvement are the Committee for Risk Assessment (RAC), the Committee for Socio-economic Analysis (SEAC) and the updating of guidance documents – REACH & CLP.
