The European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA) has announced that the second session of its Green Transition Training Webinar will be held on March 20, 2025.

Europe is undergoing a significant green transition, necessitating a shift towards a more sustainable impact on the planet. This involves leaner and cleaner processes, responsible consumption, and a prioritisation of reuse and recycling, explains the EPMA.

While carbon footprint is a key indicator, other factors like energy, water, and resource usage must also be addressed. The EPMA designed this webinar series to support European entities EU as they actively foster innovation in these areas. There are said to be plans to conduct one or more sessions annually, covering a range of topics while acknowledging the potential for revisiting specific subjects in future editions.

Each forty-minute lecture includes a Q&A session. All participants will receive recordings, slides, and a certificate upon completion. The total duration of the training session is three hours.

The programme is as follows:

  • Introduction
  • ‘Sustainability of Additive Manufacturing’ – Benjamin Haller, AM Academy
  • ‘Recycling of Hardmetals’ – Teemu Karhumaa, Tikomet Oy / RESQTOOL Project
  • ‘Soft Magnetic Composites’ – Dirk Zepp, Höganäs AB
  • Test & certification
  • Closing

This webinar is designed for young engineers, researchers, and industry professionals looking to expand their knowledge of sustainable PM applications. A basic understanding of PM processes is required (such as prior attendance of the EPMA PM Summer School).

Those looking to attend can register here.
