Edmar Allitsch to lead HC Starck’s Tungsten, Surface Technology and Ceramic Powders business

HC Starck has announced that Edmar Allitsch has joined the group’s Executive Board and will lead the company’s Tungsten, Surface Technology and Ceramic Powders business.

“The shareholders Advent and Carlyle are pleased that Edmar Allitsch will join HC Starck Executive Board. We are highly confident that Edmar will complement the incumbent management team with his in-depth expertise and will contribute significantly to the continuous successful development of the HC Starck Group,” stated Engelbert Heimes, Chairman of the Supervisory Board.

“Edmar Allitsch is a welcome and very valuable addition to our senior management team. Edmar will support HC Starck in its successful development as a global market leader in the Tungsten industry and the sustainable expansion of our business activities”, stated Andreas Meier, CEO of HC Starck.

After studying metallurgy and economics at the Montan University of Leoben, Austria, Allitsch began his career in 1988 with Radex Austria AG. In 1998, he was appointed to the Board of the North American Refractories Co. in Cleveland, USA, a subsidiary of RHI AG. In 2002, Allitsch moved to Winterthur Technologie AG, where he became CEO in 2008.
