Ceratizit USA, based in Schaumburg, Illinois, has announced the promotion of Dan Cope to President of the Americas for Ceratizit Group. Cope joined Ceratizit USA in 2019 as Executive Vice President of Cutting Tools. His new role now includes overseeing additional business units within the Americas, such as Hard Materials Solutions, Round Tool Blanks, Preforms, and Private Label.

“One of Ceratizit’s key advantages globally is the full ownership of the carbide supply chain, from the ore to the finished tool,” explained Cope. “This supply chain ownership truly sets us apart in our industry. With a focus on the Americas market, I’m proud to continue the growth journey for our Cutting Tools division, as well as the high performing Round Tool Blanks, Preforms, and Private Label divisions. And the potential of the Hard Materials Solutions division, especially for wood and stone and wear parts, is truly exciting, particularly in the US.”

In addition to expanding his business sector responsibilities, Cope’s geographic scope has also widened. While maintaining his leadership in the US market, he is now tasked with driving positive results in Canada, Mexico, and Brazil.

“I led a people-focused, five-year growth plan for our US cutting tools division and saw customers across all industries benefit from the value our team and tools bring to manufacturing,” explained Cope. “Extending the same customer-centric intensity to all divisions and all customers in North America and Brazil is my top priority.”
