“Advances in Metal Additive Manufacturing” is the topic of this year’s International Wohlers Conference which takes place at EuroMold, Frankfurt, Germany, on Thursday November 29, 2012.

Organised by Demat GmbH, Germany, and Wohlers Associates, Inc., USA, the 14th Annual International Wohlers Conference will focus on high-value metal parts produced by additive manufacturing.

“Metal-based additive manufacturing has developed more impressively in 10 years than AM for plastics developed in more than two decades,” stated Dr-Ing. Eberhard Döring, CEO of Demat, “This segment of the industry has quickly gained impressive traction.”

The conference includes speakers with differing backgrounds and experiences, each bringing a unique perspective to the event, the organisers state. Terry Wohler, Principal Consultant and President, Wohlers Associates Inc., will chair the conference and give a presentation on the ‘Growth of Metal Additive Manufacturing’.

Last year, 1,324 exhibitors from 38 countries and 57,955 designers, engineers, managers, and executives from 97 countries participated in EuroMold. These individuals and organisations represent many industries, including automotive, consumer electronics, medical, aerospace, packaging, household appliances, furniture, sporting goods, and toys.
