China’s Powder Metallurgy industry sees increase in sales

According to statistics published by the China Machine Powder Metallurgy Association (CMPMA), Powder Metallurgy component production in China increased by 2.6% to 129,387 tonnes in the first nine months of 2014, compared with the same period in 2013. The figures, based on 47 PM enterprises reporting to the CMPMA, show total sales of Yuan 431,780 million ($701.9 million) in the period, a 3.4% increase in the sales value of PM products compared to the previous year.
Exports of PM products, which make up around 10% of total PM production in the country, were reported as being up by 1.4% to Yuan 44,164 million.
Around 50% of PM production in China is for automobile applications and in the first nine months of 2014 the production of passenger cars reached 14,386,200, up 11.3% on the same period in 2013. Production of SUV and MPV vehicles in China has increased significantly, both exceeding 30%.
