Ceratizit Group, headquartered in Mamer, Luxembourg, has reopened its production site in Alserio, Italy, after being shut down for a month due to government enforcement in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19).

The site is believed to be running at full capacity, while adopting smart working patterns with two shifts of six hours per day. The group stated that for safety reasons, the office staff will continue to work from home to minimise risk and its production workers are wearing protective masks.

According to Ceratizit, during the shutdown the team in Alserio created a virtual bulletin board so that all workers continually received news of the company and were supported with their questions regarding the COVID-19 situation.

“The past month has tested our resilience, today all the workers are motivated, positive and ready to restart activities,” commented Josef Laemmle, Managing Director of Ceratizit Como S.p.A.
