CEO Melker Jernberg to depart Höganäs for Volvo

July 3, 2017

Höganäs, Sweden, has announced that current CEO Melker Jernberg will leave the company to assume a position as President of Volvo Construction Equipment and member of the Volvo Group Executive Board. Jernberg’s departure is scheduled for late 2017.

Prior to joining Höganäs, Jernberg held the position of Executive Vice President and Head of Business Area EMEA at Swedish-based steel manufacturer SSAB. In his position at Volvo he will succeed Martin Weissburg, who will now take up the position of Senior Advisor to Volvo’s President and CEO Martin Lundstedt, based in the USA.

“Melker has made important contributions towards the further development of Höganäs’ business strategy, culture and organisation, for which the Board and the owners express their thanks,” stated Staffan Bohman, Chairman of the Höganäs Board of Directors. “While I regret that he cannot see all those initiatives through to a full implementation, I wish him success in his new position.”

Jernberg will take up his new position as Volvo Construction Equipment’s Executive Vice President in January 2018. Höganäs reported that it has yet to appoint a successor.
