Companies to collaborate to service the domestic knife blade market

Carpenter Technology Corporation of Wyomissing, PA, USA, recently announced an exclusive deal with SB Specialty Metals LLC, USA. Together, the two companies will bring sport and military knife blade materials to a much broader market in both the U.S. and Canada.

“This is an ideal collaboration,” said Andrew Ziolkowski, vice president of Carpenter’s Bar and Coil Business. “We are bringing a leading, high-quality material development and production company together with the blade industry’s top service provider and distributor.”

Under the terms of the venture, Carpenter will produce its Carpenter CTS™ suite of materials featuring the highly sought after CTS XHP and CTS BD1 alloys. SB Specialty Metals, formerly a part of Crucible Materials Corp., will then distribute the cutting blade materials and provide customer service.

“Bringing these two titans together will greatly benefit the domestic industry. Both companies are strong U.S. suppliers,” said Scott Devanna, vice president of SB Specialty Metals. “We are both committed to improving the overall domestic industry and providing exceptional materials and service to the industry.”
