Capstan to acquire powder metal business of Wellman Products Group

Capstan of Gardena, California, USA, has announced an agreement to acquire the powdered metal assets of the Wellman Products Group, a Carlisle Brake and Friction Company. The operations, located in Medina, Ohio will be relocated to Capstan Tennessee, Inc.
The acquisition of Wellman’s PM high tonnage fabrication capabilities, technical knowlege and industrial customer base will compliment Capstan’s continued focus on the heavy equipment, truck and industrial markets.
Capstan, founded in 1956, is currently the largest individually owned PM firm in the Americas with manufacturing operations in Los Angeles, Boston, Knoxville, and Jalisco.
