Call for Papers – International Conference on Tungsten, Refractory & Hardmaterials
August 9, 2010
A “Call for Papers” is being issued to solicit contributions for the technical program for the eighth International Conference on Tungsten, Refractory & Hardmaterials. This event, organised and sponsored by the Metal Powder Industries Federation and APMI International, in cooperation with the Refractory Metals Association, will be co-located with PowderMet2011, May 18–21, 2011, at the Marriott Marquis, San Francisco, California.
Refractory metals (W, Mo, Re, Ta, Nb, Os, Ir, Hf), their alloys and composites (including hardmaterials and cermets), are a unique family of materials. This conference seeks to address recent developments in the refractory and hardmetals field and will encompass refractory and hardmetal processing, microstructure, properties, and applications. A focus session will be held highlighting the state of the tungsten industry in China. Requested submissions include state-of-the-art research; reviews of industrial practices; health of the industry; economic importance; and emerging applications. Academia, industrial, and government representatives are encouraged to submit abstracts within the scope of this session.
The conference is co-chaired by Animesh Bose, FAPMI, Robert J. Dowding and John L. Johnson
All abstracts for the technical program are subject to review by the Technical Program Co-chairmen and must be received by September 27, 2010, to be considered for the conference program.
