Binder technologies for PIM from German newcomer eMBe
September 22, 2008
A recently established company, eMBe Products & Service GmbH, of Thierhaupten, Germany, is offering complete binder systems for Ceramic Injection Moulding (CIM) and Metal Injection Moulding (MIM) feedstock. Michael Bayer, eMBe’s Managing Director, states that the company offers an innovative product range for PIM thanks to long term experience in the design of moulding systems.
eMBe’s technology comes via work that was undertaken at Clariant AG in the development of a water soluble wax binder for solvent debinding. The technology developed is now carried on by eMBe Products & Services GmbH. Although the eMBe system uses a solvent debinding method, thermal debinding is also possible.
The company aims to be a leading supplier to the growing market for binder materials for PIM, along with special lubricants for the powder metallurgy industry, and is working together with customers to implement innovative technical solutions for the PIM process. eMBe has its own laboratory for the development of manufacturing processes, and for providing technical support to clients.
