AMI DODUCO expands silver powder production

AMI DODUCO has completed a two year expansion programme for silver powder production and recovery capacity in Pforzheim, Germany.
The company states that despite recent negative overall trends in industrial markets, demand for silver powders globally has been driven by growth in wind and solar energy, fuel cell and thermal management technologies.
Other innovative applications such as antibacterial coatings, conductive polymer systems and ceramic and metallic sintered materials. They all call for silver powder of the highest purity and in a variety of classifications.
AMI DODUCO has increased its capacity for atomization (spherical particles) by 40%, and doubled its capacity for powder produced by electrolysis (dendritic shape) and precipitation (very fine agglomerated powders with large specific surfaces). The company is part of Technitrol (NYSE: TNL)
