Alleima, formerly Sandvik Materials Technology (SMT), has appointed Robert Stål, president of the Kanthal division and new member of the Alleima Group Executive Management, effective May 22, 2023. He succeeds Anders Björklund.

“Robert Stål is an experienced leader with a strong operational and commercial background. He has proven great performance management and execution skills during his previous assignments at Alleima. I am convinced that he will be a very good fit as president for Kanthal and a great addition to the Group Executive Management,” stated Göran Björkman, president and CEO of Alleima.

Robert Stål was born in 1983 and, since 2012, has held various senior positions within Alleima. Before becoming CEO of Dafo Vehicle Fire Protection AB in March 2022, he was president of Business Unit EMEA within the Tube division at Alleima. Previous positions also include several different sales & marketing and product manager roles within Alleima.

Anders Björklund will leave the company on December 31, 2022. An interim solution between this date and when Stål takes his role is currently under development.
