ALD Thermal Treatment receives sixth consecutive GM Supplier Quality Excellence Award

ALD Thermal Treatment Inc., Port Huron, Michigan, USA, a subsidiary of German-based ALD Vacuum Technologies, has received General Motors’ Supplier Quality Excellence Award for the sixth consecutive time since 2014.
The award is presented to suppliers who have met or exceeded a stringent set of quality performance criteria and have achieved the cross-functional support of the entire GM organisation.
ALD Thermal Treatment Inc. provides case hardening as a toll processing service by vacuum heat treatment. The technology is widely applied to harden parts which require high quality and low distortion, such as gears, transmission shafts, bearing parts, dies, drills and many more in the automotive sector and in mechanical engineering.
The ALD facility in Port Huron has processed well above 250 million parts on ALD ModulTherm furnaces for GM, with a defective rate of zero parts per million.
